राजस्थान प्रदेश में निरोगी का ध्यान रखने वाली कांग्रेस पार्टी की गहलोत सरकार अस्पतालों के महत्वपूर्ण सर्जरी विभाग में स्टरलाइजेशन और तकनीकी ज्ञान के साथ एनेस्थीसिया डॉक्टर के साथ हमेशा महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाने वाले ऑपरेशन थिएटर टैक्नीशियन के पदों का खाली होना बड़ी विडंबना है सर्जरी विभाग में ऑपरेशन थियेटर टेक्नीशियन की भूमिका बहुत ही महत्वपूर्ण है क्योंकि सर्जरी में इंफेक्शन से बचाव बहुत ध्यान रखना पड़ता है जिसके लिए एक योग्य व प्रशिक्षित टेक्नीशियन की आश्यकता होती है WHO की गाइडलाइन के अनुसार सर्जरी विभाग में प्रशिक्षित तकनीशियन का होना बहुत जरूरी है तथा वर्तमान में विभिन्न राज्य सरकारों और केंद्र सरकार के अधीन आने वाले सभी अस्पतालों में ऑपरेशन थियेटर टेक्नीशियन लगे हुए हैं लेकिन राजस्थान पैरामेडिकल काउंसिल की स्थापना के साथ ही यह कोर्स करवाया भी जा रहा है प्रशिक्षित टेक्नीशियन मौजूद भी है फिर भी इनकी सेवाएं राजस्थान की जनता को नही मिल पा रही है तथा लोग सर्जरी के समय इंफेक्शन से ग्रसित हो जाते हैं पूर्ववर्ती वसुंधरा सरकार के समय में भी राज्य के बड़े हॉस्पिटलों में लेबर रूम व लेबर टेबल के इंफेक्शन से प्रसूताओ की मौत का मुद्दा बहुत गम्भीर रहा था जिसमें ओटी टेक्नीशियन का नहीं होना सबसे बड़ा कारण था
राजस्थान पैरामेडिकल स्टूडेंट्स यूनियन जोधपुर के जिलाध्यक्ष अभिषेक थिरोदा ने बताया कि पूर्व चिकित्सा राज्यमंत्री राजकुमार शर्मा व उपनेता प्रतिपक्ष राजेंद्र राठौड़ और सांसद हनुमान बेनीवाल समेत कई विधायक सरकार को इनका कैडर बनाने और शीघ्र पदों पर भर्ती करने के लिए पत्र लिख चुके हैं लेकिन अभी तक सुनवाई नहीं हो पाई है।
